History

Susan Carol founded Susan Carol Associates in 1989 in Stafford, Va. A public relations veteran with an entrepreneur's interest in technology, Susan created one of the first virtual agencies, enabling associates to work from their own locations. And, by capitalizing on the efficiency and low overhead created by electronic communications, she can pass some cost-savings on to customers. She hand picked her team of writers, strategists, designers and production specialists, and she focused on serving customers in the growing field of e-commerce. With more than two decades in the public relations field and a vast network of resources in the United States and a satellite office in the United Kingdom, she continues to tap into a wealth of talent and resources to meet the precise needs of clients. Headquartered in Fredericksburg, Va, associates are based in Virginia, New York, Washington, D.C., Maryland, Michigan and England.

SCAPR's work in e-commerce led to clients involved in software development, application service providers, telecommunications, computer and Internet training, and engineering. By 1998, SCAPR began marketing its editorial services under the name Technologywriters.com. Susan's experience in the equipment leasing industry also shaped the company's direction, and soon SCAPR was serving global finance organizations that needed writers, media specialists and consultants who understand their business operations and the marketplace they serve. Today Susan, an avid futurist, continues to monitor trends in technology, media and culture, steering the company to assume a larger role in the global marketplace. In 2001 Susan began speaking to international groups such as Euromoney's World Leasing Convention in Hong Kong and the Australian Equipment Leasing Association's annual meeting on the subject of Internet opportunities, and she writes for leasing trade publications on e-commerce and management issues critical to multinational corporations.

SCAPR has written for almost every equipment leasing publisher and her team of writers served the marketing communications needs of GE Information Services, now GE Global Exchange Services, for more than 10 years. For more than five years the agency wrote and produced special advertising sections for Inc. magazine. In more recent years Susan Carol Associates has provided PR and marketing communications services to many of the equipment leasing industry service providers, including consultants, remarketers, software providers and trainers.

In 2005 Susan Carol joined the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce and launched a local division focused on this expanding business community situated between Richmond, Va. and Washington, D.C., with outreach to firms that are expanding nationally and globally.
