fredpubFREDERICKSBURG, VA, May 24, 2016—The Fredericksburg Public Relations Society lunch meeting May 26 will feature a panel of experts to stimulate discussion on high-impact changes in the communications and marketing fields and predictions for the year ahead.

The event, to be held at the Germanna Community College Workforce & Technology Building from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., attracts local public relations and marketing professionals. The event fee is $20 to cover a box lunch.

Susan Carol, founder and owner of Susan Carol Creative, will join Beth Vickers, local sales manager at Comcast Spotlight; Roger Will, a print and digital strategist at The Free Lance-Star; and Ted Schubel, news director at B101.5/New Talk 1230.

She founded her public relations firm in 1989 and recently rebranded to emphasize the creativity of her full-service agency.

Carol will talk about some pain points she sees companies experiencing with communications, and various approaches that can help them establish reasonable and affordable strategies to reach their goals.

“People are overwhelmed by the number of communications channels available today. Some companies will enter social media or develop Web sites independently with little expense, but they often tell us they are uncertain if their ‘do-it-yourself’ projects pay off.”

The panel will be moderated by Laura Grigsby, senior account executive at Comcast Spotlight. She is the president of the local PR society. Carol is one of the founding members of the society, which started more than two decades ago in conjunction with a former University of Mary Washington PR professional.  The group meets four-six times per year and includes professional communicators from media, higher education, medical companies, non-profits, and agencies as well as free-lancers.
